The Cisco Catalyst 3560-24TS switch has two part numbers. One is WS-C3560-24TS-S, and the other is WS-C3560-24TS-E. The similarities and differences of the two are described below.

From the table above, we can see that WS-C3560-24TS-S is available in SMI, while WS-C3560-24TS-E is available in EMI. The SMI feature set includes advanced QoS (quality of service), rate limiting, ACLs (access control list), and basic static and RIP (routing information protocol) routing functionality. The EMI provides a richer set of enterprise-class features, including advanced hardware-based IP unicast and IP multicast routing, as well as PBR (policy-based routing). Both of them have 24 Ethernet 10/100 ports and 2 SFP-based Gigabit Ethernet ports in 1 rack unit. The 10/100 ports on the switch are grouped in pairs. The first member of the pair (port 1) is above the second member (port 2) on the left. Ports 3 is above port 4, and so on. The SFP module slots are numbered 1 and 2 (see the picture below). The 10/100 ports can be set to operate in any combination of half duplex, full duplex, 10 Mb/s, or 100 Mb/s. Supporting 6.5 Mpps (million pulses per second) and 45W maximum rated power supply, the Cisco Catalyst 3560-24TS is suitable for networks requiring low-density access, Layer 2+ features with optional advanced IP routing, and one or more fiber uplinks.
