Organizations can now take advantage of an efficient and affordable modern data center, with open networking at the core, in order to maintain competitive advantage

New Castle, DE and Mountain View, CA – December 19, 2018 -- FS, a leading communication systems integrator and optical solutions provider for data centers, enterprises and ISP networks, announced its cooperation with Cumulus Networks, the leader in networking software for the open, modern data center. FS has added Cumulus Linux, an open network operating system, to its N-series data center switches, which will provide customers the best-in-class network operating system (NOS) with the highest performance data center switch platform. This streamlined delivery model represents a new era of open networking and accelerates a customer’s ability to build a highly flexible fabric for scale, agility, and automation.

“Data centers now need a modern, web-scale networking infrastructure that is simple to operate and built on open standards to drive agility and high performance,” said Daniel Xiang, CEO of FS. “We are confident our N-series switches with the latest Cumulus Linux 3.7 built-in will bring customers an open, high-performance, scalable solution to extend and improve the pace of innovation, efficiency, and automation of their data center infrastructure.”

“Open networking is changing the way data centers are designed and managed in a big way, enabling organizations to have control over their cost and operations. This partnership with FS is bringing that benefit directly into the hands of our customers through a direct-to-consumer model,” said Josh Leslie, CEO of Cumulus Networks. “With cost-effective hardware and the best-in-class network operating system, customers have the freedom to scale up or down, complete choice and flexibility to control their own supply chain, and a repeatable and consistent network that reduces errors.”

N-series Switches

FS N-series switches include a full portfolio of 10GbE, 25GbE, 40GbE, and 100GbE switches, which are designed to provide stable, reliable and secure Layer 2/3 switching services for data center networks and high-end campus networks. They deliver excellent low latency and power efficiency in a PHY-less design, while offering high-reliability features such as redundant and hot swappable power supplies and fans in forward and reverse airflow configurations. With Cumulus Linux 3.7 pre-loaded, they support many advanced features including MLAG, VxLAN, SFLOW, SNMP, etc.
