FS Releases 1G Fiber Optic Switch for Access/Aggregation Network

June 15th, FS News - FS has recently officially declared a new 1G fiber optic switch - S5800-48F4SR, which is designed to meet the requirements of the next-generation enterprise, data center, MAN, HCI (Hyper-Converged Infrastructure) networks.

The future of communications networks is bound to be all-optical systems, which is reinforced by 5G deployment. Conforming to the development trend, FS newly-released S5800-48F4SR switch with all-optical port configuration serves as an innovative and future-proof access/aggregation network solution. Equipped with 48x 1G SFP and 4x 10G SFP+ ports, this layer 3 managed switch supports a switching capacity of 176 Gbps and a forwarding rate of 132 Mpps. Moreover, this switch features a number of advanced data center functions, including:


  • PFC, ECN, Data Center TCP

  • MLAG

  • NVGRE/VXLAN/GENEVE

  • RPC-API for SDN

These data center characteristics together with outstanding software features like LACP/VxLAN/QinQ/ERPS/BGP/QoS/IGMP contribute to higher transmission efficiency, security, stability, as well as superior networking flexibility and scalability. All these make FS S5800-48F4SR a versatile solution for multiple application environments like enterprise, data center, MAN networks. To emphasize, the S5800-48F4SR has passed Ixia tests.
