January 10th, 2024 – FS.com, a high-speed network solution provider for HPC, data centers, enterprises, and telecom networks, has announced its latest strategic products, the open network switches, to support communication service providers and web-scale companies around the world in building open, programmable next-generation intelligent networks.

As AI, 5G, and cloud computing drive the next wave of information technology, the digital economy is thriving, accelerating the transformation of countless industries towards digitization and intelligence. Current closed and non-programmable traditional network architectures struggle to meet the future network's needs for programmability, customization, and high performance in protocols and functionalities. Open network switches resolve these challenges. They adopt open architecture to provide customized configuration and more flexible network management, fostering the transformation of enterprise networks towards greater flexibility and intelligence.

Open Network Switches

Answering the call for open networking, FS has launched 14 open network switches, ranging from 1G to 400G, empowering high-performance network infrastructure in diverse settings, including AI, cloud data centers, and enterprise networks. Each model is available as a bare metal switch or an open network switch preloaded with PicOS® (including hardware, Perpetual PicOS® license, and one-year technical support). PicOS® licenses and service support are also available online, allowing customers to select according to their specific requirements.

Leading in the Age of AI

The FS 400G N9550 series of switches boasts support for up to 64 QSFP-DD ports and an outstanding switching capacity of 25.6Tbps. This meets the demands of enterprises in the AI era that require high-performance networks to handle and transfer extensive volumes of data. PicOS® software can unlock additional functionalities such as MLAG, EVPN-VXLAN, and LLDP, optimizing network connections and management. This enhancement specifically caters to large-scale AI workloads, ensuring outstanding performance, high bandwidth, and minimal latency.

Empowering Cloud Data Centers

FS's open network switches allow for the creation of more resilient, programmable, and intelligently managed networks at a lower total cost of ownership (TCO), meeting the high-value, customized, and efficiently operated needs of large-scale cloud data centers. FS's bare metal switches come pre-installed with the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE), supporting open Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and network operating systems for standardized cloud data center management. Switches equipped with PicOS® support the AmpCon™ controller for centralized Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) and configuration management, along with advanced programmability through OpenFlow and NETCONF. Beyond these benefits, FS's N5850 and N8550 series switches feature enhanced hardware configurations, spanning multiple rates like 10G, 25G, 100G, and 200G, playing a pivotal role in constructing versatile cloud infrastructures.

Building High-Performing Enterprise Networks

FS S5870 series of switches is tailored for enterprise networks, primarily equipped with 48 1G RJ45 ports and a variety of uplink ports. This configuration effectively resolves the challenge of accommodating multiple device connections within enterprises. S5870-48MX6BC-U offer PoE+ support, reducing installation and deployment expenses while amplifying network deployment flexibility, catering to a diverse range of scenario demands. Furthermore, the PicOS® License and PicOS® maintenance and support services can further enhance the worry-free user experience for enterprises. Features such as ACL, RADIUS, TACACS+, and DHCP snooping enhance network visibility and security. FS professional technical team assists with installation, configuration, operation, troubleshooting, software updates, and a wide range of other network technology services.

Looking ahead, FS plans to expand its hardware, software, and services for open networking, paving the way for future networks with increased efficiency, flexibility, and reduced costs. Plans include the introduction of 800G open network switches to meet the growing demand for high-performance, highly flexible networks among global professional clients.
