Enterprise digital transformation has undergone three major changes: high-density terminals, always-on application protection, and intelligent operation and maintenance. These changes have transformed campus wireless network solutions from being connection-centric to being experience-centric. Read this article to learn how FS solutions can improve your experience.

FS Campus Wireless Network Solution Overview

To meet customers' needs for network upgrades and management, FS has launched a variety of medium and large campus wireless network solutions. The first solution is the network layout between large campus enterprise buildings, and the second solution is the enterprise campus network coverage solution.

  • Network Architecture

100G Core Layer Network: The SC9405 switch features a dual-master dual-power design to ensure physical reliability. It supports 1G/10G/100G boards, VSU virtualization technology, and has a switching capacity of up to 4.8Tbps.

M-LAG Link Aggregation: The core layer is connected through LAP to increase bandwidth, improve network reliability, and achieve load balancing. It is also conducive to business expansion.

Broadcom Chip High Reliability: The branch network uses the S5860-20SQ switch as the core switch. It is equipped with a built-in Broadcom chip, flexible interfaces, and rich functions, making it suitable for building a small LAN network.

Multi-port PoE Connection: The access layer switches all use the S5860-24XB-U switch, which has 24 x 10G ports and hardware-level multiple protections to ensure the overall stability and security of the network.

AP Network Automation Management: The entire access layer equipment and APs are managed 24/7 by the Airware cloud management platform.

  • Airware Cloud Management Platform

The Airware Cloud management platform enables remote centralized deployment and management, leading to a significant improvement in management efficiency. The platform shifts from the traditional decentralized management model to remote and mobile operation and maintenance, achieving fault prevention and intelligent data management while enhancing IT agility and efficiency.

Leveraging big data and cloud-native architecture, the platform achieves elastic expansion and supports the management needs of millions of devices. In terms of security, the platform supports Portal authentication and MD5 encryption, providing multiple protections for corporate data. Portal authentication ensures that only authenticated users can access the system, thereby protecting sensitive data from being leaked. The MD5 encryption protocol encrypts data, making it difficult to be intercepted, cracked, or tampered with during transmission.

100G Campus Wireless Network Solution with PicOS®

  • Network Architecture

This campus wireless network solution is built on PicOS® software and AmpCon™ unified management platform. It consists of the S5860-20SQ and S5860-48SC switches, creating a 100G network.

Broadcom Chip for High Reliability: The S5860-48SC switch is powered by advanced Broadcom chips and an ARMA9 quad-core CPU, providing high processing performance and network reliability.

Abundant PoE Ports: The access layer is supported by S3410 and S3910 series switches, which offer 24 or 48 x 1G PoE interfaces for accommodating a large number of devices.

Robust Hardware Redundancy: These switches come with dual redundant hot-swappable power supplies and dual intelligent fans to ensure excellent processing performance and network reliability.

Efficient Management: The PicOS® software and AmpCon™ unified management platform enable zero-touch configuration and deployment.

      • PicOS® Software and AmpCon™ Unified Management Platform

This solution enhances the consistency and efficiency of data centre networks when combined with PicOS® software. It provides enterprises with lower-cost, more flexible, more efficient, and scalable operations. The software supports GUI automated configuration and has a powerful graphical user interface that visualizes the status and configuration options of the switch, making it more intuitive and easy to use. This allows even enterprises without professional engineers to complete device configuration. It also supports EVPN-VXLAN and MLAG technologies to ensure that switches can build more agile, secure, and scalable networks in campuses and data centres.

The S5860-48SC, S5860-20SQ, S3900 series, and S3410 series switches have been upgraded to PicOS® switches, supporting zero-touch configuration management through the AmpCon™ management platform. The ZTP function, which can automatically obtain and load configuration files, realizes on-site configuration and deployment of devices, thereby reducing labor costs and improving deployment efficiency. Additionally, it can prevent configuration errors and downtime through end-to-end network lifecycle management, maintenance, compliance checks, and upgrades.

PicOS® software and AmpCon™

The 100G wireless network solution with Airware, can easily expand capacity and performance at any time, while maintaining stable customer network operation. It is suitable for customers with a large demand for terminal devices. The wireless network solution based on PicOS® software and AmpCon™, provides a highly elastic, reliable, and programmable network, suitable for the EVPN-VXLAN structure of campus or data centre networks.
