In this case, FS.COM developed and launched the LAN switch – S3800/S3700/S2800 series 10Gb switch, for the purpose of helping our customers make a smooth transition to 10 Gigabit Ethernet.

S3800/S3700/S2800 series 10G LAN switch is defined as smart layer 2 switch, and they are designed for class-carrier Gigabit Ethernet access and up to 10G uplink network. This product line covers all kinds of enterprise/operators customer. They adopt high performance processor to provide dull speed forwarding and line-dormant capacity and to offer customer multitudinous service features. Mainstream transceivers on the market are well compatible with our S3800/S3700/S2800 series 10G switch. However, we still recommend you to use generic transceivers provided by us. These 10 Gigabit switches feature plug-and-play design, which enables a relatively easy installation process. S3800/S3700/S2800 series 10Gbe switch support full duplex, half duplex mode and port rate can be configured. It can support auto-negotiation of ports between devices.

FS.COM S3800/S3700/S2800 series 10G LAN switch generally adopts Broadcom switch chips – currently the most widely used and mainstream chips in the market. Broadcom is considered as market leader for switching merchant silicons used in the network switch, and it sets the bar for data center switching. Broadcom chips are often used for data center switch with super-low latency and sensitivity, and many Ethernet switch upstarts like Cisco, HPE, Arista Networks, Dell and IBM also use various Broadcom chips in some of their switches. With Broadcom switch chips installed in our S3800/S3700/S2800 series 10G switch, users can expect a peek at network scalability and performance.

FS.COM 10G LAN Switch Models Analysis

The S3800 series 10G LAN switch has three models available, including S3800-24F4S, S3800-24T4S and S3800-48T4S, while the S2800 & S3700 series 10G switch consists of S2800-24T4F & S3700-24T4S only. S3800 series can support IPv6 and have stacking function, while S2800 & S3700 series can support Web management and Link aggregation function. The description of each is presented below.

S3800-24F4S Stackable Managed 10G Switch

S3800-24F4S 10G switch is designed to meet the demand of cost-effective Gigabit access or aggregation for enterprise networks and operators customers. This access switch has 20 x 100/1000BASE SFP ports, 4 x 10G SFP+ uplink ports and 4 x 1G RJ45/SFP combo ports – the four single interface with dual front ends that facilitate the use of different connectivity. Among these ports, SFP+ port can be configured as stacking port, which supports up to four S3800-24F4S switches stacking together to work as a whole unit. It was built with 3 fans and reserved vents for better cooling. It is also available in single power and dual power version – two separate supplies which can be used as alternatives and can be selected as per need (circuit requirements). Most importantly, this 24-port switch is featured rich in VLAN/VxLAN, VRRP/GARP/MSTP/smart link, DDoS, DHCP, QoS, etc. And this fully managed switch can be managed by both CLI command and web user interface.

S3800-24T4S Stackable Managed 10G Switch

S3800-24T4S enterprise-class stackable managed switch is equipped with 24 10/100/1000BASE-T ports and 4 10GbE SFP+ ports. The flexible port combination form to facilitate user operations who can directly connect to a high-performance storage server or deploy a long-distance uplink to another switch. Except for fully functional operating standalone, it can also support up to four same model switches stacking together with the use of its SFP+ ports. In addition, this stack switch has two build-in cooling fan, and it also has single power and dual power version. And S3800-24T4S supports multiple configuration modes to make it easy for network management and maintenance.

S3800-48T4S 10G SFP+ Switch

S3800-48T4S managed switch has 48 100/1000BASE-T ports and 4 10G SFP+ uplink ports – satisfying the requirements for now and future. Built with two cooling fan and reserved vents, it provides powerful heat dissipation. The switching capacity is up to 176Gbps, which is higher than the other two S3800 series switches. This 48-port switch is also featured rich in BCM53346 chip, 4K VLAN, VRRP/GARP/MSTP/smart link, DDoS, DHCP, QoS, etc, perfectly matching for small and medium network applications.

S3700-24T4S SMB 10G Switch

S3700-24T4S SMB switch is deployed at the access layer of an enterprise network to deliver cost-effective packet switching capability. It provides 24 x 10/100/1000BASE-T ports and 4 10G SFP+ ports to extend your home or business network. This 10 Gigabit switch has only one cooling fan and single power supply. And it supports Web management and Link aggregation function. This cheap 10Gb switch combine high reliability with rich management and security features to help customers build secure, reliable, high-performance networks. All in all, it can be applicable to various scenarios, for example, GE access to enterprise networks and GE-to-desktop, building future-oriented IT networks for enterprises.

S2800-24T4F Fanless 10G Switch

S2800-24T4F is a kind of fanless and energy-saving LAN access switch, which is equipped with 24 x 100/1000BASE-T ports and 4 x 1GE Combo SFP ports. Customers can configure the port automatically or manually, and secure their network through using its IP+VLAN+MAC+Port binding functions. Moreover, S2800-24T4F fanless switch has up to 48Gbps backplane bandwidth and 42Mpps packet forwarding rate. And its performance will be not impacted by ACL / binding / attack protection and other functions. The Web management interface of S2800-24T4F has been optimized for enterprise users, supporting SNMP, Telnet, and cluster. Looback port loopback detection and LLDP neighbor detection functionalities have also been provided.
