A: Our S-series 100G switches are designed based on the fourthX generation high-end scalable chipset, which supports L2/L3/Data Center/Metro features. The switches come with complete system software with comprehensive protocols and applications to facilitate rapid service deployment and management for both traditional L2/L3 networks and data center networks. For example, the FS.COM N5860-48BC series 100G switch has a capacity of 2.98 billion packets per second (PPS) with layer 2 and layer 3 forwarding at wire speed. And it provides a total bandwidth of 2.4Tb/sec for nonblocking, cut-through switching.

Series 100G open switches are embedded Broadcom chips, Intel CPU as well as FS OS, which is for next-generation metro, data center and enterprise network applications. A: FS S-series 100G switches use FSOS at present. This OS is based on the development of Linux. Hardware platform compatible with X86 architecture and PowerPC architecture, and supports Enterprise/Data Center/Metro Ethernet features, including L2/L3/ACL/QoS/Security, NVGRE/VXLAN, RPC API.

N-series 100G switches can use either FSOS or the common ONIE systems and support third-party operating systems. FS self-developed extensible open networking operating system FSOS can perfectly run on the 100G white box switches, and it can also be replaced with other thrid-party operting systems according to customers' needs. Take N8560-32C switch as an example, it is compatible with SONiC open source ;network software; Compatible with CGS COS; Compatible with IP Infusion OcNOS™; Compatible with Open Network Linux (ONL), an open-source, OCP reference NOS.For the concrete operating system supported on specific models, please contact your account manager.

Q: What licensing model does the FS.COM 100G Switches use? And, is there a software license cost?

A: Our S-series 100G switches use a permanent license model and no additional cost for the license. The N-series 100G switches need a license fee. But if you have purchased the 1, 3, or 5-year software update and support, you needn't pay additional license fees during the period.

Q: What support does FS.COM offer when there is an OS issue?

Q: Do FS.COM 100G switches run a 3rd party software or are the switching/routing engines of them developed in-house?

A: They are developed in-house.

Q: If I want to use third-party transceivers, will they work with FS.COM 100G switches?

A: In principle, our 100G switches are compatible with any standard module. But we recommend using our certified modules. Our switches have no special requirements for the module, and there is no limit too.

Q: Do FS.COM 100G switches support jumbo frame for an iSCSI environment?

A: Yes, our S-series 100G switches support jumbo frame up to 9600 Bytes. N-series 100G switches also support Jumbo Frame (9216 Bytes).

Q: What types of security layers are offered on FS.COM 100G switches? How does FS.COM handle the problems of security and backdoor vulnerability?

A: Our 100G switches support SSH, AAA, DDoS defense. In addition, they also support Elephant Flow Detection, CPU traffic, and CPU limit, ACL, Port Security, Port Isolate, Port block, VLAN security, private VLAN, IP source guard, etc.

Q: Is it possible to use OSPF in combination with NVGRE/VXLAN for controlling of the routing of NVGRE/VXLAN packets? Is it possible to implement link failure protection with the combination of NVGRE/VXLAN and OSPF?

A: Through the test on the equipment, it's found that OSPF is used to connect VXLAN and it's available to control the routing of VXLAN packets. By setting the priority route on OSPF to ensure the redundancy of the link, when a routing is broken, OSPF can quickly switch routing to ensure to the implement link and to deliver the data without interruption.

Q: What are the limits on OSPF and BGP routing, such as the number of routes?

A: OSPF and BGP routing support Flexible Table Management, it can choose different profiles according to different application scenarios. Default support 4K ARP Entry and 8K FIB, Arp can support up to 20K under the layer3 profile.

Q: What quality-of-service (QoS) features do FS.COM 100G Switches provide to enhance traffic management?

A: Different switch models support different QoS features. For example, S5860-48SC model provides classifying and controlling various flows including MAC flows, IP flows, and application flows and QoS policies including 802.1p, IP ToS, layer-2 to layer-7 traffic filtering, SP, and WRR. While N8550-32C model supports Layer 2/3/4 packet filtering and traffic classification based on Layer 2 headers, Layer 3 protocols, Layer 4 protocols, and 802.1p priority.

Q: Is the implementation of NVGRE/VXLAN on N-Series/ICOS compatible with the implementation of NVGRE/VXLAN on FSOS on S5850?

A: VXLAN is deployed on N-Series and S5850 Series, they can be successfully achieved the tunneling and implement L2 features.

Q: How to handle the connectivity problems in the test?

A: Take FS.COM S8050 series switch as an example, problem shown as below:

1) eth-0-11 (QSFP28-SR4, 100G) to eth-0-14 (QSFP28-SR4, 100G): Pass

2) eth-0-11 (QSFP28-SR4, 100G) to Ixia (QSFP28-SR4, 100G): Fail

3) eth-0-11 (QSFP28-SR4, 100G) to FortiCarrier (QSFP28-SR4, 100G): Fail

Check the device as follows:

When docking fails, firstly check the details of a module on the switch. The command is "show transceiver eth-0-11 detail".

A: Our 100G switches don't support stacking. But they support MLAG that is relatively easy to manage. Two devices can achieve cross-device port aggregation and provide fairlure redundancy.
