FS Industrial Ethernet Switches

Normal commercial switches provide appropriate networking solutions for data centers and enterprise networks but do not consider the application requirements of industrial networks. If deployed in a harsh industrial working environment, the stability of the commercial switch will be greatly challenged. Industrial switches with high availability, reliability, and security have emerged as the perfect solution that suits complex industrial environments and facilitates industrial automation network deployment.

Highlights of FS Industrial Switches

Industrial Hardened Design

IP30/IP40 Aluminum Metal Housing

Equipped with a rugged IP30/IP40 metal enclosure, FS industrial switches offer faster heat dissipation and greater protection, so they can withstand a high degree of vibration and shock while working in industrial environments from -40° to 75°C.

6KV Lightning Protection

What's more, FS IES5100-24TF switch provides 6KV lightning protection, designed to handle harsh outdoor environments like lightning climates.

Industrial Hardened Design

High Speed, Low Latency

PTP for Sub-microsecond Accuracy

PTP (Precision Time Protocol) is a packet-based protocol designed to carry Timing signals over data networks. Supporting PTP, FS IES3110 series switches, including IES3110-8TF, IES3110-8TF-P, and IES3110-24TF, can deliver synchronization with microsecond accuracy, making them ideal for telecom and Carrier Ethernet applications.

QoS for Traffic Prioritization

With QoS (Quality of Service), FS industrial switches can adjust the overall network traffic by prioritizing specific high-performance applications. Therefore, FS industrial Ethernet switches can meet the traffic requirements of sensitive applications, such as real-time voice and video conferencing, and prevent the degradation of quality caused by packet loss, delay, and jitter.

Simplified Network Management

OSPF for Simplified Network Management

FS IES5100-24TF industrial switches support OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) that can simplify topologies by splitting autonomous systems into areas, automatically calculates and renews the shortest path, and transmits link status information, reducing labor hours.

OSPF for Simplified Network Management

Easy Network Management by WEB/CLI/SSH/Telnet/SNMP

FS managed industrial switches support various management modes such as the WEB GUI, CLI (telnet/console), and SNMP. With such types of management methods, both professional technicians and newbies can quickly get familiar with using these industrial switches. Moreover, FS industrial switches also offer secure remote management by supporting SSH, SSL, and SNMP v3 connections which encrypt the packet content at each session.

Reliability

Comprehensive Security Policy Protects from Network Threats

FS industrial switches offer comprehensive IPv4/IPv6 Layer 2 to Layer 4 Access Control List (ACL) for enforcing security to the edge. The switches' protection mechanism also comprises 802.1X port-based user and device authentication, which can be deployed with RADIUS to ensure port-level security and block illegal users. With the Protected Port function, communication between edge ports can be prevented to guarantee user privacy. FS industrial switches also provide DHCP Snooping, IP Source Guard and Dynamic ARP Inspection functions to prevent IP snooping from attack and discard ARP packets with invalid MAC addresses. Network administrators can now construct highly-secure corporate networks with considerably less time and effort than before.

Comprehensive Security Policy Protects from Network Threats

Redundant Ring

FS industrial switches support redundant ring technology and feature strong rapid self-recovery capability to prevent interruptions and external intrusions. The switches incorporate advanced ITU-T G.8032 ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching) technology (except IES3110-16TF) and Spanning Tree Protocol (802.1s MSTP) into customer’s industrial automation network to enhance system reliability and uptime in harsh factory environments. In certain simple Ring networks, the recovery time of data link can be as fast as 10ms.

Smart PoE+ Support

FS provides three industrial PoE+ switches with 240W PoE power budget to deliver high-speed data transmission up to 100m while powering high-power devices. Compliant with IEEE 802.3af/at PoE standards, FS industrial PoE+ switches can automatically detect and provide the required power for PoE+ devices, which can deliver up to 15.4W and 30W power per port. This effectively simplifies network deployment and maintenance and saves costs by eliminating the need to install multiple pieces of equipment, additional electrical wires, and outlets.

Applications

Various adverse factors in industrial environments, such as confined spaces and extremely high or low temperatures, pose challenges for the installation and use of Ethernet switches. However, FS industrial switches with industrial hardened design, enhanced performance, and reliability can meet the high requirements of harsh industrial environments on switches.

Factory Floors

Traffic Control Cabinets

In traffic control cabinets, switches face the challenge of ensuring fast and reliable networks in various harsh climates. Moreover, the switch must ensure accurate and intensive data transmission in real time to avoid traffic chaos. With robust industrial design, compact size, easy-to-install, high-speed, and low-latency features, FS industrial switches can provide reliable network connectivity for transportation industries. They can also benefit real-time control of traffic devices, such as IP cameras and traffic signals, by traffic management systems to avoid widespread repercussions in congested traffic conditions.

Factory Floors

The complex environments of factories, even with various corrosive substances, require high performance of the appearance and management of the switches. FS industrial switches are equipped with IP30/40 metal enclosures to withstand heat and corrosion in factories. While ensuring powerful performance, FS industrial switches support multiple management modes for easy management, making them ideal for factory floors.
