October 18th, FS News - FS has announced the official launch of 40G BiDi and 100G BiDi transceivers with a duplex LC connector interface for short-reach data communication and interconnect applications using Multi-Mode Fiber (MMF).

Key features of the new FS 40G&100G QSFP BiDi transceiver modules are as follows:

  • The new transceivers are equipped with low-power consumption and high-performance. With built-in II-VI chip, which enables stable transmission, the power consumption of the transceivers can be lower than 3.5w, saving energy and reducing heat dissipation. With these features, 40G/100G BiDi transceivers are easy to install, suitable to be applied in small clouds and data centers.

  • QSFP+ BiDi modules support links of 300m/400m/500m on OM3/OM4/OM5 respectively, and QSFP28 BiDi transceivers support links of 75m/100m/150m on OM3/OM4/OM5 with a duplex LC connector interface. 40G/100G BiDi transceivers can carry two distinct channels in different directions on a single strand of fiber, which makes them a cost-effective solution for short-reach applications by doubling the capacity of existing fiber infrastructure.

  • QSFP 40G BiDi and 100G BiDi transceivers can seamlessly upgrade short reach links from 10G while using your existing 10G duplex LC MMF cabling infrastructure originally meant for 10G SR modules. Without the need to replace fiber cable infrastructure, the costs can be saved.

Upgrade seamlessly from 40Gb or 10Gb data center continues to grow, the 40G and 100G BiDi optical transceivers are high-quality solutions for applications with the lowest cost in infrastructure. FS will firmly continue to provide customers with comprehensive and effective solutions for transceivers in a better way.
