As a high-performance network switch for enterprise networks, FS S3800-24T4S 24-port switch enables users to directly connect to a high-performance storage server or deploy a long-distance uplink to another switch. With the outstanding features listed below, you can build and expand networks easily, scalably and efficiently.
FS S3800-24T4S 24-port switch is a carrier-grade Ethernet access switch ideal for Ethernet service demarcation, extension, and aggregation. It consists of 24 10/100/1000BASE-T ports and 4 10GbE SFP+ ports. Any of the port combination forms can be flexibly assigned as 10GbE fiber or 10/100/1000BASE-T copper connections to subscriber-side devices. All in all, FS S3800-24T4S 24-port stackable managed switch is ideal for locating at the edge of broadband-access networks to aggregate traffic from multiple services.
IP Stacking With Layer2+ Routing Support
FS S3800-24T4S 24-port switch can not only function as a standalone switch but also support IP stacking to help network managers easily configure up to 4 of the same model via one single IP address instead of setting each unit one by one. For efficient management, FS S3800-24T4S 24-port Gigabit stackable managed switch is equipped with console, Web and SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) management interfaces. With the built-in Web-based management interface, FS S3800-24T4S 24-port switch offers an easy-to-use, platform-independent management and configuration facility. FS S3800-24T4S stackable switch supports Lay2+ switch class and 4K VLAN entries. Therefore, it is suitable for IP MAN convergence layer and large-scale enterprise zone as well as the core of the network layer.
Excellent and Secure Traffic Control
FS S3800-24T4S 24-port switch is loaded with powerful traffic management and WRR (Weighted Round Robin) features to protect and enhance the transmission of multimedia services. The WRR functions include wire-speed Layer2+ traffic classifiers and bandwidth limitation which are particularly useful for multi-tenant unit, multi-business unit or network service applications. The ACL (Access Control List) flow filtration supported by this switch can classify the traffic by source/destination IP addresses, source/destination MAC addresses, IP protocols, IP precedence, time ranges and ToS. FS S3800-24T4S 24-port switch also provides IEEE 802.1x port based access authentication which can be deployed with RADIUS, thus ensuring the port level security and block illegal users.
How to Stack Multiple FS S3800-24T4S Switches
As mentioned above, FS S3800-24T4S 24-port stackable managed switch offers edge to core stacking to help you build and expand networks easily. By using 4 10GbE SFP+ ports, FS S3800-24T4S 24-port switch comes with true stacking capability, allowing you to configure, manage and troubleshoot multiple physical switches as a single unit. The following part will demonstrate the stacking procedures for two, three and four of FS S3800-24T4S switches respectively.
Two S3800-24T4S 24-Port Switches Stacking
Stacking two FS S3800-24T4S switches is very simple. As shown in Figure 2, you just need to use two 10G SFP+ direct attach cables to insert into two 10G SFP+ slots on each switch. Then the two switches are stacked successfully and you can manage either of them via the console port.
Figure 2: Stacking Two S3800-24T4S Switches
Three S3800-24T4S 24-Port Switches Stacking
Stacking three FS S3800-24T4S switches is more complex. As shown in Figure 3, in this stacking system, each 10G SFP+ port on the four switches is used as an uplink port to connected to the SFP+ port on the other switch with 10G SFP+ to SFP+ direct attach cables. This process is repeated until three models are linked together. And the first stackable switch is connected with the last one to complete the stacking topology. Every time you stack a switch in this process, certain configuration changes are applied across the whole stack. You can manage each of these three switches from the console port, or make some changes to any of the switches in the stack.
Figure 3: Stacking Three S3800-24T4S Switches
Four S3800-24T4S 24-Port Switches Stacking
Stacking four FS S3800-24T4S switches is the same case with stacking three of them. As shown in Figure 4, you only need to add one more switch and two more SFP+ to SFP+ direct attach cables to complete the whole stacking topology. But remember that each time you add a switch, certain configuration changes will be made. After four of the switch models are stacked together, the port density of the stacking system is the sum of the combined switches, namely 96 Gigabit RJ45 ports and 16 10G SFP+ ports per physical stack. Thus it provides up to 512Gbps total switching capacity for the network.
