FS 400G Transceivers

With the surge of network traffic and data traffic, major data centers and telecom carriers pose a higher requirement for data rates, leading to the arrival of 400G era. In order to meet these requirements for current and future data rates – 400G, the cabling solution in various enterprises and data centers needs to be updated. FS cabling solutions provide robust performance, reliability, and flexibility to fully satisfy customer requirements. These solutions primarily include 400G DAC cables, 400G AOC cables, and fiber cabling solutions with transceivers.

400G DAC Cables

FS provides two types of 400G direct attach cables: 400G DAC and 400G breakout DAC, available in QSFP-DD, OSFP and OSFP112 form factors, which features low power consumption, small size, and high speed.

400G DAC

FS 400G DAC cabling system can achieve 400G to 400G direct connection and network upgrade from 50G/100G/200G to 400G, meeting a wide range of customer needs. More importantly, with high transmission capacity and low power consumption, FS's 400G direct attach cables offer a high-performance, high-bandwidth, and cost-effective interconnect solution, supporting 400G standard applications.

Category Name Available Lengths Power Consumption
400G DAC 400G QSFP-DD to QSFP-DD DAC 0.5(2ft)~3m(10ft) ≤0.1W
400G OSFP to 400G QSFP-DD DAC 0.5(2ft)~2m(7ft) ≤0.1W
400G OSFP112 DAC 0.5(2ft)~1.5m(5ft) <0.1W
400G Breakout DAC 400G OSFP to 2x200G QSFP56 DAC 1(3ft)~2m(7ft) ≤0.3W
400G QSFP-DD to 2×200G QSFP56 DAC 0.5m(2ft)~2.5m(8ft) <0.1W
400G QSFP-DD to 4x100G QSFP56 DAC 0.5m(2ft)~3m(10ft) <0.1W
400G QSFP-DD to 8×50G SFP56 DAC 1m(3ft)~2.5m(8ft) <0.1W

The diagram below shows FS 400G DAC for short connections between ToR switches and switches/servers. In this case, FS 400G DAC has ultra-low power consumption for lower operating costs, a small bend radius for more flexible patching, and low insertion loss for improved performance, making it ideal for short-haul network deployments in large data centers.

400G AOC Cables

FS offers two types of 400G active optical cables: 400G AOC and 400G breakout AOC, available in QSFP-DD and OSFP form factors.

400G AOC

All FS 400G AOC has undergone targeted testing with switches, demonstrating superior performance, enhanced quality, and reliability. What's more, FS 400G breakout AOC supports built-in digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM) that allows access to real-time operating parameters, further enhancing reliability.

Category Name Available Lengths Power Consumption
400G AOC 400G QSFP-DD to QSFP-DD AOC 1m(3ft)~100m(328ft) ≤11W
400G Breakout DAC 400G QSFP-DD to 2x200G QSFP56 AOC 1m(3ft)~30m(98ft) 5W (200G End), 11W (400G End)
400G OSFP to 2x200G QSFP56 AOC 3m(10ft)~30m(98ft) ≤8W
400G QSFP-DD to 4x100G QSFP28 AOC 1m(3ft)~20m(66ft) ≤12W
400G QSFP-DD to 4x100G QSFP56 AOC 1m(3ft)~50m(164ft) ≤10W
400G QSFP-DD to 8x50G SFP56 AOC 1m(3ft)~70m(230ft) ≤10W

What's more, FS 400G AOC supports longer reach longer transmission distances, which is suitable for ToR, EoR, and MoR in data centers. FS 400G active optical cables support data transmission up to 100m, which is ideal for switch-to-switch connection between racks, as shown in the diagram below.

Fiber Cabling Solutions with Transceivers

Apart from DAC and AOC, there are also fiber cabling solutions for 400G network connection, which refers to the combination of optical fibers and 400G transceivers. Both 400G DAC and 400G AOC present highly economical options for interconnecting within or between racks. However, when dealing with transmission distances beyond 100 meters, it is advisable to opt for a 400G optical module paired with a suitable fiber, such as an MTP-16 fiber jumper. Fiber optic cabling solutions offer low power loss, which allows for ultra-long transmission distances. Cooperating with various high-performance transceivers, fiber cabling solutions can achieve a fast, constant, and stable network connection. To provide comprehensive and diverse options for different applications, FS also offers MTP/MPO cabling solutions to meet the needs of high-performance 400G networks.

The following is presenting MTP/MPO cabling solution for 400G connection between the EoR and ToR. In this case, FS MTP/MPO cables can minimize accidental signal instability to realize high-density and stable data transmission, due to the innovative design of the multi-core connectors. And working closely with US Conec, FS 400G MTP/MPO cabling solutions feature plug-n-play, easy management & expansion, and support 40G/100G/400G upgrade, making them ideal for today's data center cabling.
